About us
Jonathan Finch – Firework & Event Industry Consultant
With over 36 years’ experience in the fireworks and events industry, Jonathan Finch brings a unique depth of expertise to every project. Having built and run his own successful fireworks business, he now provides independent consultancy services across all areas of the firework and explosives sector.
Jonathan’s broad skills and knowledge allow him to advise on everything from compliance and safety to event delivery and industry best practice. His career includes work with both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, two Commonwealth Games, and numerous other large-scale international events.
He is a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA), holds a NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety Management, and an Event Safety Diploma from the University of Derby.
Clients include: major UK underwriters, solicitors (expert witness services), production companies, firework companies, event organisers, and manufacturers.
DGSA Services
Jonathan provides DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor) services to over 30 UK companies. It is a legal requirement for companies that transport hazardous goods to appoint a DGSA, who can be either an employee or an external consultant. Jonathan makes sure that companies are kept abreast of the law and fulfill all their legal obligations.
HSE Licensing and Classification
Having worked on a large number of HSE Licences, both with brand new applications and amendments, Jonathan can advise and guide you through the process. He can also offer ADR classification for all explosive items, through a number of different contracting parties. If you need help with CE marking contact us as we can also offer this service.
Firework Event Production
With experience on some of the world’s largest ceremonies and live events, Jonathan brings a rare combination of firework expertise and safety management. He has worked on two Summer Olympic Games, a Winter Olympic Games, multiple Commonwealth Games, and many other major international events.
This unique blend of technical knowledge, safety leadership, and understanding of large-scale event operations ensures the successful and safe delivery of spectacular shows.
